YouTube suspends Fox News host Dan Bongino over Covid misinformation
Right-wing commentator Dan Bongino’s popular YouTube channel has been suspended for violating the platform’s Covid disinformation policy, after Bongino falsely claimed in a video that masks are “useless” in preventing the spread of coronavirus.
A YouTube spokesperson said Forbes Bongino’s channel also had its monetization suspended for “repeated violation of our advertiser guidelines on harmful and unsafe acts.”
Bongino’s comments represented first attack on his channel, says YouTube – platform policy States three strikes in a 90 day period will result in a permanent ban.
After the suspension was announced, Bongino retweeted an image appearing to show him sending a profanity email to a YouTube representative, saying he “will immediately post content asking why the masks were totally ineffective” upon his return, closing the post by saying “respectfully kiss my ass.”
Bongino did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Forbes.

Bongino is widely took into consideration one of the leading conservative media personalities, especially after his Fox affiliate radio show, The Dan Bongino Show, took over the timeslot from the late Rush Limbaugh’s show in many markets last year. bongino was suspended from Twitter last year after posting a video that violated the platform’s policies against promoting violence following the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol. He swore he would never return to Twitter, although he remained an active user after the suspension.
