WWE Paige news – Saraya Jade Bevis flooded with Instagram tributes as she reveals ‘the hardest part’ of leaving the brand
WWE star Paige has been inundated with Instagram tributes after announcing her last day in the ring and revealing the “hardest part” of leaving the brand.
The wrestler, whose real name is Saraya Jade Bevis, made the announcement via Twitter on June 10.
“July 7 will be the last day with WWE,” Paige’s statement begins.
“I am very grateful and appreciate the opportunities the company has given me.
“I will always appreciate the company that took in an 18 year old British pale emo girl who didn’t look like your average diva, giving me the chance of a lifetime and making me feel like a superstar.
“I know that after my neck injury took me out of ringside status, it was pretty hard to keep me around for as long as you did, and for that, I’m grateful as well.
“Thank you WWE Universe. You are the most passionate group of fans I have ever seen. I hope you continue to experience this journey with me.
“I think the hardest part, oddly enough, is having to drop the name Paige! But Saraya is a hell of a name. Kudos to my mom for that one.
“For your information, I’m not saying I’ll never be in the ring. This day will definitely come again! Wherever the return may be.
She signs her note thanking WWE.
Paige posted a similar message on her Instagram, sharing a photo of a WWE microphone on the ring floor with the caption “Bye for now @wwe”.
Tributes continue to pour in for the wrestling star from fellow wrestlers and fans.
Former WWE star CJ Perry commented, “I love you and thank you for everything you gave.”
@carmellawwe, whose real name is Leah Van Dale, wrote, “You are amazing!!! I love you sister!”
“Thank you Paige,” one fan commented on her Instagram post, adding, “I can’t wait to see where the future takes you. It will be magical.”
Another fan wrote, “Thank you Paige. I will continue to support you whatever you do next and wherever you go next! Thank you for the WWE memories and WWE will always be your home!”
“Thank you Saraya for inspiring me to be myself and not follow trends or be like someone else. The world of pro wrestling will always be your home,” wrote another.
Named after the character Rose McGowan on the TV show Charmed, Paige made her in-ring debut in England at the age of 13.
In 2011, she signed with WWE, but didn’t hit the stage for the first time until 2014.
His career has been marred by neck injuries, having undergone surgery in 2016 and injuring his neck again in 2017.
She officially retired in 2018.
Along with her time in the ring, the 29-year-old was also part of the reality show Total Divas which aired from 2013 to 2019.
