Meta Pay is the new Facebook Pay

A new blog post by Stéphane Kasriel, head of fintech at Meta, says that Facebook Pay is adopting the Meta brand. Coming Soon Meta Pay – refresh aims to improve the online payment experience.

Meta is also exploring how to facilitate payment processing within the Metaverse. Kasriel said the company is in the “very early stages” of creating a unique wallet experience for users. It would explore how you carry your identity across the metaverse, store digital goods, and how you can easily pay with any method you want.

The company sees Meta Pay as an opportunity “to bring more people into the financial system.” With 1 billion people in the world without any form of identification, Meta seeks to solve this problem; this could allow more users to support themselves or even start their own businesses.

Meta Pay will also seek to help businesses and creators better serve their audiences. With the potential for expanding business opportunities in the metaverse, Meta Pay can make this possible. He said there will be more to look forward to in this area throughout the year.

Our way forward is grounded in our mission to empower everyone, everywhere to access the global financial system to accelerate financial inclusion and economic empowerment. Designing products and infrastructure with the Metaverse in mind today will help facilitate innovation that provides greater access and real cost savings – even before the Metaverse becomes mainstream. Now is the time to lay the foundations for the future. Because once that foundation is in place, the potential of the metaverse, and where it can take fintech next, will be limitless.
