Meta launches Instagram Academy 2022 in Hong Kong

Meta collaborated with the Hong Kong Design Center to launch “Instagram Academy 2022”, a training program to help young designers and brand entrepreneurs in Hong Kong grow by giving them digital skills, tools and knowledge.

The program will recruit around 100 young local designers to follow the first phase of the training program from February to May. A total of seven online lectures will teach attendees various Instagram tools and skills, including free Instagram business and creativity tools; hands-on workshops on Instagram content management, audience engagement, and driving sales; as well as How to use Instagram tools for business and create a strategy to attract business worldwide.

Meta said that through a series of training workshops and consulting sessions, the program will encourage and enable young designers and brand entrepreneurs with high potential to make the most of Instagram to expand their businesses to the rest of the world. world.

“Instagram Academy 2022” is the first event of “Hong Kong Instagram Month”. In the coming weeks, Instagram will announce a series of products to promote online safety and spark creativity for video production.

“Instagram has transformed the way people discover local businesses, shop online, choose and learn about travel destinations, and share memories with their communities. As a visually rich platform, it makes it easy for brands to tell their stories. stories through photos and video,” said Jayne Leung, vice president, head of Greater China at Meta.

She added that today Instagram has over a billion monthly active users, 90% of whom follow at least one business. A recent survey also revealed that more than half of respondents shop on Instagram. “I am delighted with the partnership between Meta and Hong Kong Design Centre, and look forward to empowering Hong Kong design entrepreneurs with essential digital skills that can help them grow their businesses in today’s digital world” , said Leung.

Bernard Chan, Hong Kong’s undersecretary for commerce and economic development, said a brand’s ability to make the most of social media, especially marketing tools on the platform, is crucial to growing brand awareness and generating customer demand.
He added that the program’s return this year will allow local designers to promote their brands through social media and help solidify Hong Kong’s position as a top Asian city for design and creativity.
