Instagram’s “Ingress timeout, stream ID” error bothers many users

New updates are added at the bottom of this story…….

The original story (published October 06, 2022) follows:

Instagram has been one of the most popular social media platforms since its inception. It keeps adding new features from time to time to enrich users’ experience.

However, for the past few days, Instagram has been facing multiple login-related issues. For example, a number of users were unable to log in after a recent server outage.

We also highlighted how Instagram kept disconnecting when searching or clicking “#Embeded” or “Embedded”.

Lately, many Instagram users (1,2,3,4,5) reported that they were getting an “Ingress timeout, stream ID” error when trying to log into their accounts.

@instagram @InstagramComms why does my instagram say “entry delay, streamID”? I was blocked for 3-5 days. It’s bad for my brand.

my account all day said “input timeout expired feed id” it’s not refreshing or loading it’s just stuck and i don’t know what to do or how to fix it, someone does anyone know what’s going on? Thanks in advance

Mines keeps saying Ingress timeout stream since I updated my app it started acting funky

It seems that the error only prevents users from accessing their accounts because they are visible to everyone.

Even if users’ accounts are inaccessible or not loading anything, they still receive their DM notifications.

Some users also tried to log in through other devices and web browsers, but to no avail. Changing the account password does not help them either.

However, affected people can try some basic troubleshooting steps such as updating or reinstalling the app, clearing cache, etc.

Potential workaround

Luckily, we’ve found a workaround you can try for a potential fix.

However, Instagram just shows an “Ingress timeout” error instead of a “Your story violates our community guidelines” message.

Update 4 (October 18, 2022)

1:00 p.m. (IST): A user shared a workaround that helped fix the problem for him. This involves going to “Account Status” and tapping “Request Review” multiple times.

I went to settings – account – account status – and I had a story they flagged (for no reason) and I kept pressing request review and kept trying for about 10 minutes and a few minutes later it worked and just made me press ok and finally let me in

Note that in some cases, users cannot find or click on the “Account Status” option. This prevents them from using this workaround.
