Amazon, AWS Users Report Problems with Services

Some of the biggest names in tech were experiencing blackouts Monday morning and afternoon with Facebook (FB) – Get the Class A report from Meta Platforms Inc. and Amazon (AMZN) – Get the, Inc. report being down for thousands of users, according to the tracking website.

Downdetector has shown over 9,000 incidents of people reporting issues with Amazon. At the height of the problem, just before noon, people were reporting nearly 30,000 incidents of problems.

Some Downdetector users have reported issues with the company’s ancillary services, such as Ring doorbells and Alexa home assistants.

Amazon Web Services was also showing problems on the site, with reports of problems peaking at nearly 11,400 on Tuesday morning. Finally, verify that this number has dropped to around 6,000 reports on Tuesday afternoon.

Facebook was experiencing a less dramatic increase in problems with as many as 2,000 reports recorded by Downdetector. But the issues appeared to have been resolved by the afternoon with just over 100 issues reported.

Facebook’s problems could be linked to the AWS outage.

The problem with Facebook on Tuesday was not as bad as the problems the company faced in early October when the company’s Instagram and WhatsApp platforms suffered a six-hour outage.

Social media platforms were down for about six hours, one of the longest outages in Facebook history. In addition, Facebook’s internal tools and communication platforms, including Workplace, were also affected, according to published reports.

Amazon shares rose 3.23% to $ 3,538.10 at noon Tuesday.
