Affirm and Amazon Introduce Buy Now, Pay Later to Customers in Canada

Affirm is expanding its relationship with Amazon in Canada, bringing increased payment flexibility and transparency to customers shopping on Amazon.ca.

This Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) payment option will be available at checkout to all eligible customers in English and French over the next month.

Customers who select Affirm as their payment option when ordering on Amazon.ca will be subject to a quick and free credit check that will not affect their credit score.

Within seconds, Affirm’s technology will determine the payment options available to each customer. If approved, eligible customers will be able to split purchases of $50 or more into single monthly payments.

Right off the bat, eligible customers will know how many monthly payments they have and when they’re done paying.

Even if they are late or miss a payment, a customer’s total payment amount will not increase and they will not be charged late or hidden fees.

“We are always looking to improve our customers’ payment experience, including how and when they can pay for their orders,” shares David Williams, vice president of Amazon payment products.

“Introducing Affirm to Canada provides our customers with another flexible payment option for their purchases.”

Affirm’s Canada Launch on Amazon Follows Successful BNPL Rollout in the United States

“Since by launching with Amazon in the United States, we are providing eligible Amazon customers with a powerful tool to responsibly increase their purchasing power,” said Geoff Kott, Chief Revenue Officer of Affirm.

“We are excited to offer customers shopping on Amazon.ca the ability to pay for everyday items and large purchases with Affirm, as we provide the same level of transparency and flexibility that customers have come to expect from Affirm. in our markets in North America and beyond.”
